Core Experience:
3-5+ years of full payroll processing experience preferred
Experience with working with unions, garnishments, multistate taxes
Must have experience working with a manual process
Experience with ERP Software
Responsibilities of this Role:
Following document workflow and work instructions, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for gathering time records, auditing time records for compliance, and ensuring that time records are accurate and that any inconsistencies or errors are resolved.
Process employee data (transfers, promotions, terminations, rate increases, bonuses, deductions, adjustments, etc.) and ensure changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review and reconcile changes for proper authorization and adherence to company policy and compliance with federal/state/local regulations.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll.
Provide positive and continued support to employees, members of management, and external agencies on a regular basis. I'm responding to and resolving any questions regarding paychecks, payroll reporting, and union inquiries.
Computes any corrections or retroactive payments; prepares manual checks when necessary.
Completes payroll reports for reconciliation, union reporting, tax filings, audits, and management review.
Exercises extreme sensitivity to the issues of confidentiality of employee/employer data and maintains absolute confidentiality of personal data.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
