    Our ideal candidate would be a perfect balance between the front of the house and the back of the house. Must be able to manage line execution as well as the customer experience. Experience in both is necessary.

    Grub Durham has established itself as Raleigh-Durham’s premier spot to enjoy eclectic comfort cuisine within a welcoming, energetic environment, attracting a wide range of guests, including students grabbing breakfast, colleagues holding lunch meetings and families enjoying dinner on the spacious outdoor patio. Grub Durham also does a large amount of catering.

    Responsibilities may change, within the scope of the role, based on changing organizational growth and objectives.

    Summary of Responsibility

  • Maintain strong communication with other departments including Catering and other store Managers.

  • Responsible for directing the daily operations of the restaurant.

  • Responsible for driving store sales and guest satisfaction.

  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, retraining, and developing team members.

  • Provide effective leadership, coaching, and management to improve the pace, focus, and efficacy of store staff.

  • Budgets, store profitability, and cost controls.

  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with health and legal regulations; maintaining security systems.

  • Provide on-time Scheduling, food ordering, and inventory

  • Food and Labor cost control management

  • Communication with property management, third-party vendors, and contractors (as needed)

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 2 years of fast-casual restaurant management and catering experience

  • Must be skilled in handling stressful working conditions, be an excellent multitasker, and be able to deal with frequent interruptions calmly and decisively.

  • P&L and budgeting experience

  • Proven track record driving sales and controlling expenses

  • Team member recruiting, hiring, training, and coaching

  • Bachelor's degree in business and administration or hospitality management (preferred)

  • Proficient with laptop computers, Google Suite programs, Microsoft Office.

  • Upholds Company safety standards and core company values.

  • Proven strategic and effective communication skills, verbally and in writing.

  • Able and willing to work a regular workweek of 50 hours as well as nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Drivers license and reliable transportation.

  • Must have strong moral principles whilst having the ability to hold others accountable and follow through with necessary disciplinary actions

  • Knowledge of federal and state labor laws as well as local health and sanitation laws and regulations

  • Serve-Safe Certified a plus .
