Description:
Overview: Applies knowledge of engineering principles and practices to effectively accomplish technical assignments and projects that improve product, equipment and process performance (cost, quality and service). Provides solutions for increased material utilization, decreased costs, and improvement to product quality by planning, organizing and implementing projects.
Assists in problem solving, to ensure timely resolution of short-term control system issues, and higher-level troubleshooting.
Provides cost and schedule updates on assigned project.
Provide general engineering and instrumentation and controls system knowledge (understands theories and fundamentals) and lead a project to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Recommend and implement permanent solutions to long term performance issues, and improve existing and new technologies.
Meet all Environmental, Safety and Health requirements.
Develop knowledge of material, process and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering.
Modify existing instrumentation and control systems through rigorous experimental design to continuously improve system and process performance.

Requirements:
Pursuing a degree in 4-year engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2025 (May-August 2025) with a graduation date of December 2025 or later
Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.

Desired Skills:
At least one semester of core engineering course work completed, Electrical preferred.
GPA > 3.0

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
