As a Construction Set Crew Lead you will lead by example traveling to job sites armed with energy, wit, and the drive to ensure each of your crew members gets the most out of their career and that every home is treated as if it were your very own. Summary:

Champion Home Builders is a leader in off-site construction, offering customers solutions from single family homes to large scale commercial buildings all built in a controlled factory setting and then assembled onsite. Champion is seeking an experienced and reliable construction professional to join and provide leadership to the team. The Construction Set Crew Lead will be responsible for managing all aspects of the construction and assembly of manufactured housing (Modular and HUD code homes) and will report directly to a Project Superintendent.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of this position are outlined below. Other duties may be assigned.

• Lead construction crew's day-to-day activities while maintaining a safe, productive work environment.

• Plan and delegate appropriate job responsibilities to your crew daily. Organize resources as needed for team.

• Directly supervise the move and set up mobile homes or prefabricated buildings on owners' lots or at mobile home parks.

• Provide guidance and training to crew members where needed.

• Enforce safety policies and procedures throughout project as outlined by Champion Home Builders.

• Lead inspections and testing of the operation of parts or systems to evaluate operating condition and to determine if repairs are needed.

• Hands-on technical responsibilities include:

• Set (block and level) Manufactured Housing Units.

• Structurally fasten the units.

• Complete the roof closure and shingling.

• Close up the exterior mate wall sheathing seams to provide a weather tight product.

• Complete interior trim out, finish work, and install skirting.

• Ensure crew maintains company tools and materials. Remain informed of any issues that arise.

• Represent Champion Home Builders with a friendly attitude and professional demeanor.

• Model and communicate the expectations of Champion Home Builders with regards to performance and attitude.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 40lbs

• Ability to stand and/or walk for full duration of workday

• Must be able to obtain a certified medical card

• Must have clear vision at both close and distant ranges

• Ability to hear clearly

• Must be willing to travel, with occasional overnight stays

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in the construction or repair of houses or buildings

• Experience leading a team of others, delegating and providing necessary training

• Ability to troubleshoot, reason and solve problems

• Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbal

• Understand and execute instructions, work safety policies, and procedures

• Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel)

• Must provide valid driver's license and hold clean driving record

• Must be available to work Monday through Saturday

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
