The primary responsibility of the Solutions Architect is to consult with the client and work with internal teams to create strategies, transformational designs and the architectural vision for complex solutions that address the clients’ needs. They provide multi-technology consulting services on all aspects of application software, infrastructure and related technology components.

Global Digital Technology (GDT) function providing total accountability for portfolio of business applications supporting a global user base. Functions include finance, legal, quality and GRC.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas.

  • Identifies and evaluates alternative architectures and the trade-offs in cost, performance and scalability.

  • Produces specifications of cloud-based or on-premises components, tiers and interfaces, for translation into detailed designs using selected services and products.

  • Management of full software development cycle

  • Strong stakeholder engagement

  • Effective communication strategy to ensure organization readiness and application adoption.

  • Liaising with operational environments for Go-Live opportunities.

  • Document review and approval (Specification, Technical Blueprints, Training, User manuals)

  • Supports a change programme or project through the preparation of technical plans and application of design principles that comply with enterprise and solution architecture standards.

  • Takes responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution.

  • Embed Enterprise Architecture framework (APQC) within organisation.

  • Mapping technology to EA business model

  • Evaluate and solutioning of technology for sustainable business value.

  • Engaging with strategic technology partners and vendors

  • Reporting on process progress and change management.

  • Project management

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Qualification in Information Technology or Information Systems

  • Certification and working knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies (e.g. TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT, etc.)

  • Digital Transformation Strategy

  • ITIL Foundation Certified

Required Experience:

  • Leading and managing software development teams.

  • Comprehensive understanding of majority software development methodologies including agile.

  • Strong change management skills

  • Customer focused software design principles using design thinking principles.

  • Project and operational risk management

  • Budget planning, forecasting and control.

  • Strategic and visionary software expert

  • Enterprise and Solution Architecture
