DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be part of a critical personnel team that must be accessible around the clock. You will handle emergency maintenance requests, perform on-site assessments of urgent situations, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities to team members to ensure timely repairs are made. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining the security and safety of the District Office and its associated facilities.

You will plan, organize, and oversee the activities of two custodial staff members engaged in cleaning and sanitation tasks, which include washing and polishing floors, maintaining restrooms, replenishing supplies, disposing of waste, snow removal, and ensuring that outdoor areas and building entrances are kept tidy and free of litter. Daily responsibilities also encompass vacuuming carpeted spaces, executing minor repairs such as changing light bulbs, dusting furniture, fixing chairs, and reporting any significant repair needs to your supervisor. Other incidental duties may involve delivering supplies, running errands, mowing grass, trimming landscaping, and performing additional related tasks as assigned.

It is essential to ensure that the custodial team operates efficiently and effectively. You will coordinate and enforce policies, procedures, and standards related to cleanliness, sanitation, maintenance, safety, and other building services.

You will oversee the execution of preventative maintenance programs and cleaning schedules to ensure optimal facility upkeep.

Your responsibilities will also include assessing the training needs of your staff, making recommendations for training programs, conducting training sessions, and demonstrating more effective work methods. You will plan and coordinate on-the-job training initiatives focused on custodial services, maintenance, safety, and related building operations.

It is crucial to instruct custodial personnel on safe working methods and procedures to mitigate risks and prevent damage.

Regular inspections of work areas will be conducted to verify adherence to established departmental and occupational safety standards, ensuring that appropriate precautions are taken when performing tasks and handling hazardous materials.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years as a Facility Services Supervisor (commonwealth title); or Four years of routine maintenance work experience which includes two years of supervisory experience overseeing trades or building maintenance employees in a commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential facility; or An associate's degree in commercial property management, commercial real estate, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, HVAC, electrical technology, electronics, building automation, construction, or a related field; and two years of supervisory experience overseeing trades or building maintenance employees in a commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential facility; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years of supervisory experience overseeing trades or building maintenance employees in a commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential facility. Special Requirements:

This position requires an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
