Job Title: Biosciences Sales Specialist, New Zealand

Location: South Island or lower North Island

Reporting To: New Zealand Genomic Solutions & BioSciences Sales Manager

With commercial, manufacturing and distribution sites across Australia and New Zealand, including Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Auckland, Adelaide, Newcastle, and Perth, our scope covers life sciences; specialty diagnostics; food, dairy & beverage; environmental & industrial; healthcare and analytical instruments including commercial, customer service, technical service, supply chain, finance and operations.

You will sell and promote all products represented by Biosciences Division (BID) of the Life Sciences Group (LSG). You will run existing accounts within the South Island and lower North Island as well as prospect for new business that will support sales growth for BID.

Responsibilities

Plan Performance and Sales Skills

Achieve or exceed the territory sales plan, as set each year for the defined territory, and support the achievement of the Australasian goals by maintaining existing business, developing incremental business in existing accounts, and conducting cold calls to develop new accounts.

Servicing and Managing the Customer Base

Produce and follow a relevant Call Cycle for the territory. Make 15+ customer calls per week.

Set up and coordinate technical seminars by internal customers such as Research & Development, Marketing and/or a Technical Sales Specialist either on customers’ site or locally, annually or more frequently.

Product/Market Knowledge

Provide product and other relevant information to customers via daily phone contact and personal visits for all aspects of BID business to generate sales.

Administration and reports

Maintain accurate and detailed customer records on the company CRM.

Key Account Management

Identify Key Accounts in a defined territory that will chip in significantly to the sales growth in that territory.

Develop, write, and implement a Strategic Plan for leading the assigned territory annually, updated quarterly.

Travel

A reasonable amount of travel may be required depending on geography of the territory. This may include, but is not limited to travel for conferences, training, and meetings.

How will you get here?

  • Educated to B.Sc. level or above in the Life Sciences

  • A master’s degree or PhD in life sciences is highly desirable

  • Previous Sales Success in Life Sciences of at least 2 years.

  • Strategic selling and Market Development ability.

  • Well-developed communication (written and verbal) skills.

  • Organisational and Time Management skills.

  • Professional presentation.

  • Self-management.

  • Strategic and Tactical Market development skills

  • Presentation skills that can be utilised internally and in the marketplace.
