Duluth Bethel Society Substance Use Clinical Assistant in Duluth, Minnesota

The Duluth Bethel is a spiritually grounded, private nonprofit organization offering individuals dignity, hope, and the opportunity to improve their quality of life through chemical dependency rehabilitation and community corrections services. Currently hiring full and part-time Substance Use Disorder Technicians to monitor client activity and provide care to clients in our residential treatment program. We have day shift (8-4 pm), afternoon shift (4-12 am) and overnight shift (12 am-8 am) available. WILL TRAIN! NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! Clinical Assistants are members of the treatment team and help support the overall operations of the program. Clinical assistants conduct regular client well-being checks, coordinate meal times, dispense medications (no experience necessary), and sign clients in and out of the agency. Responsibilities: Monitor and maintain the safety and security of the clients and the facility. Recognize crisis situations and provide appropriate interventions based on training and experience. Ensure clients attend scheduled activities/programming. Complete incident reports as needed. Understand and maintain confidentiality of client information and records. Address negative behaviors with a positive attitude. Perform inspections of client rooms and the facility. Administer medication and track all medications that are administered, keeping accurate records of dosage times and amounts through the agency computer system. Answer telephone calls. Greet facility visitors and monitor visitation sessions. Sign clients in and out of the facility. Attend bi-weekly agency staff meetings. Other tasks as assigned. Qualifications: Must be able to clear a criminal background check. Must be able to work a flexible schedule and willing to work outside of scheduled hours as needed. Must have a high degree of honesty, integrity, empathy, ability to set and maintain professional boundaries, respect confidentiality and act as a role model for others. Must possess good interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written, positive telephone etiquette, have the ability to handle difficult people, and maintain positive public relations. Must be free from problematic substance use.
