Structural Engineer - Bridge Design LHB is looking for a highly motivated Structural Engineer to join our Bridges & Structures team in our Duluth, MN office. Position Summary: The responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to: Work effectively in hybrid work environment Prepare and review structural design calculations, drawings, and specifications Direct and review project drafting Prepare or assist with proposals, tracking budgets and schedules, and workload forecasting Actively participate in virtual and in-person project and department team meetings Communicate with clients, contractors and staff engineers, designers and technicians Perform site visits and field observations for bridge condition assessments, ratings, pre-design and design tasks. Assist with bridge safety inspection Work closely with clients to meet & exceed their objectives Contribute to business development Prepare written technical reports Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program 6 years of prior relevant experience Professional Engineer licensure Experience with bridge and other structural design codes and specifications Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam and structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD-3D. Valid driver's license with ability to travel domestically, intermittently Familiarity with AutoCAD or MicroStation Committed to producing a high-quality product and possess excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and problem-solving skills Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations Preferred Qualifications: Experience using AutoCAD or MicroStation Familiarity with AASHTOWare or other bridge rating software. Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and problem-solving skills Experience with bridge, retaining wall and/or other structural work Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities.
