The person hired for this position will be based in Duluth, Minnesota at the University of Minnesota Medical School. They will manage the research team and support the Principal Investigator Brenna Greenfield as well as the larger research team. The larger research team includes tribal nation partners, faculty at multiple universities, and student trainees. The Research Professional III will keep track of multiple projects at once, ensure research data are organized and secure, and supervise and assist with data analysis and preparation of deliverables and research dissemination products. Aanji'bide (Changing our Paths) is a research collaboration between a rural Anishinaabe Tribal Nation in Minnesota and the University of Minnesota Medical School, Duluth Campus. The goal of this NIH-funded project is to make recovery from opioids and other drugs easier. Our team works to respect Indigenous knowledge and conduct innovative research that answers community-relevant questions and can lead to positive change. Our current project is called Ginaadamaadimin (we help each other) and looks at access to cultural healing for individuals using drugs. We have 1-3 more years remaining on this study and are moving into a data analysis and dissemination phase. If future grants are obtained, there is the possibility of continued employment as a Research Professional III. We value creativity, collaboration, and working to benefit community at a sustainable pace, while having fun together. This is a 30-32 hour/week position that is benefits eligible. Hourly salary will range from $39 to $42 per hour, depending on experience. Applicants should currently live in or near Duluth, Minnesota, or be willing to relocate.
