PRACTICE SPECIFICS
Essentia Health Duluth Children’s Hospital, a member of Essential Health, is the region’s largest provider of pediatric care. With many outpatient Pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists on staff and the region’s only PICU and NICU, we are able to care for the area’s most critically ill infants and children.
Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
20-bed Level III NICU, with 4 Neonatologists and 5 APPs that cover deliveries in house
14 bed General Pediatric Unit, 5 bed PICU
5 of the NICU and Pediatric rooms are swing rooms that can accommodate either NICU or Pediatric patients
13 bed Birthplace with 3 additional Midwifery suites
Join 5 Pediatric Hospitalists and 3 Pediatric Intensivists in a shared pediatric hospitalist practice
Day/Night shifts and/or 24 hour shifts with equal weekends
Night shifts are in house if needed
1500 births/year at labor and delivery with NICU delivery coverage
General birthplace rounding on newborns
Moderate sedations
2 hospitals located on campus:
Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center – 344-bed tertiary hospital
Essentia Health Duluth Miller Dwan - 165-bed specialized care facility
- Department educational focus with medical students and family medicine residents
REQUIREMENTS
BC/BE Pediatrics
Experience in full-spectrum hospital pediatrics
