INVENTORY ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR - International Company in Duluth
My client, an international industry leader in their field, is seeking an Inventory Accounting Supervisor to join their finance team. This role involves managing inventory components and finished goods, collaborating with various departments to streamline operations, and supporting financial processes under the guidance of the Senior Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and reconcile all components and finished goods inventory, addressing discrepancies within accounting and inventory systems.
Review monthly count sheets, variance reports, and slow-moving inventory, providing management with analytical insights for decision-making.
Develop and implement cycle count schedules, overseeing counts and conducting audits as needed.
Enter cycle count data into the ERP system and collaborate with warehouse management on inventory organization and data entry.
Communicate effectively with multiple departments to address logistical challenges and streamline procedures.
Act as a backup for processing internal work orders.
Oversee third-party inventory movements, ensuring accuracy in received quantities.
Maintain bin locations in the ERP system and review returned goods.
Lead weekly warehouse meetings to discuss and resolve departmental issues.
Assist with balance sheet reconciliations, month-end closing, and audit activities.
Ensure timely and accurate accounting entries.
Support ad hoc projects involving research, analysis, and process improvement.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and inventory management.
Experience with ERP systems preferred.
Proven ability to produce financial reports on an annual, quarterly, and monthly basis.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other advanced computer skills.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial practices.
Energetic, self-directed, and adaptable, with a professional demeanor.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and judgment skills, with a strategic approach to planning.
Strong statistical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues in both office and warehouse environments.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
