EMCOR Group Construction Manager in Dulles, Virginia
Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and closely manage the Division’s team and support all decisions made within this team
Identify, recruit, develop and retain members of your team including, but not limited to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Administrative Assistant
Prepare annual or special performance reviews, evaluate and recommend salary and bonus changes, and discipline team members when appropriate
Provide first-class customer service by selling our Company to the customer
Work closely with Pre-Construction and Operations Manager in the development of new sales
Visit customers and encourage direct business development and sales activities for the Construction Division
Review and negotiate terms and conditions of contracts
Review and negotiate terms and conditions of subcontracts
Supervise production planning meetings
Walk projects frequently with the team, superintendent, foreman and project manager
Assist Project Mangers with change order negotiations
Review monthly requisitions for cash flow implications
Run monthly receivables meeting and assist Project Managers with customer collections
Review Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers work monthly
Review monthly Project Managers status reports and react as appropriate
Prepare, monitor and attend monthly Work-In-Progress meetings
Review and monitor department financial statement
Plan department monthly activities calendar
Hold monthly department staff meetings
Formulate and monitor yearly department budget
Assist other departments when needed
Assist Company leadership in running the company
Submit assignments on time
Treat others as you wish to be treated
Attend monthly Manager’s meetings and discuss any ideas or issues concerning division personnel, projects, customers or other issues affecting the Company
Review for approval division paid-time off leave request and timesheets
Establish and enforce company policies regarding the conduct, phone and computer usage and ethics
Participate in project budget development and project cost to complete forecasting
Attend project turnover meetings held with estimating and field management personnel
Encourage department personnel’s participation in educational programs
Participate in associations/networking functions that the company belongs to
Train Project Managers and Assistant Project Manager through our Project Manager outline and company procedures
Review and approve all job purchase orders
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed inside and outside which may include adverse weather conditions.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
