Automotive System Solution Engineering Director (f/m/d)
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Automotive System Solutions Engineering to join the MCU Business Unit within Renesas’ High Performance Computing Solutions Group. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in leading global system experts and be responsible for defining and developing system solutions to enhance our product offerings. This role will drive the solution competitiveness, and meet the evolving needs of the automotive industry.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive global system solution strategy for the target automotive applications
Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable and modular system solution frameworks
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define hardware requirements, specifications, and standards for the target automotive systems
Work closely with the global business development, regional marketing, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of system solutions
Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product improvements and new developments
Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on automotive electronics hardware architecture best practices and emerging trends
Engage with key customers to understand their future system requirements and define and deliver tailored solutions
Drive continuous improvement and innovation in system design and functionality
Lead and mentor a team of system solution engineers and professionals
Drive innovation in system solutions to maintain a competitive edge
Continuously improve processes, methodologies, and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
10+ years of experience in the automotive industry, with a focus on MCU products and system solutions
Proven track record of leading global teams and managing complex projects
Strong understanding of automotive electronics, embedded systems, and MCU technologies.
Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
Willingness to travel internationally as needed
