Dupaco Credit Union Information Security Specialist in Dubuque, Iowa

Description

If you’ve been waiting for an entry level opportunity to join Dupaco’s IT Security Department - now is your chance! The Information Security Specialist is responsible for supporting the credit union's Information Security initiatives, ensuring the protection of systems, networks, and data from both external and internal cyber security threats. The information Security Specialist monitors escalated tickets from the Helpdesk and IT Support department. This position works with vendors and internal staff to assist in problem solving.

You’ll Be:

  • Monitoring, investigating, and resolving alerts generated by our security tools, and escalate alerts to Information Security Analyst as needed.

  • Monitoring, investigating, and resolving suspicious email submissions and tickets assigned to our Security department in our ticketing system and escalate to Information Security Analyst as needed.

  • Supporting the Security Operation Center by investigating anomalies and suspicious indicators of compromise.

  • Working with the Information Security Analysts to assist with the design and implementation of phishing, malware, threat hunting and intelligence workflows in a SOAR platform.

  • Performing other duties as assigned

You’ll Need:

  • Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Diverse backgrounds are welcome, including psychology, business, cybersecurity, computer science, or other disciplines.

  • Strong interest in cybersecurity with desire to learn and grow.

  • Basic understanding of: - Security Administration- Penetration Testing- Incident Response- Security Awareness- Enterprise password vaults- SIEM- Application control- SOAR

  • Experience (or coursework) with Python is a plus.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to represent the financial institution in a positive and professional way when dealing with membership, vendors, and other staff members.

  • Must be able to prioritize while working on multiple projects at one time and multi task.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and an aptitude for learning new technologies.
