Google Engineering Analyst, AdSpam Trust and Safety in Dublin, Ireland

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 1 year of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.

  • 1 year of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in digital advertising industry in a technical role.

  • Experience in data management, metrics analysis, experiment design and automation.

  • Experience working with teammates and collaborators to reverse engineer, pen testing, and develop signals against sophisticated abuse vectors.

  • Demonstrate product and policy knowledge, the ability to both understand and design training roadmaps and an ability to communicate and persuade between multiple levels.

  • Excellent quantitative skills, and ability to translate investigative insights into business strategies and actions.

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.

In this role, you will understand the user's point of view and are passionate about using your combined technical, sales and customer service acumen to protect our users. You will work globally and cross-functionally with Google developers and Product Managers to navigate challenging online safety situations and handle abuse and fraud cases at Google speed. A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

  • Partner with Engineering teams to improve Google's ad traffic infrastructure, defense systems, and workflows.

  • Apply advanced statistical methods to large complex datasets to analyze impact of abuse on third Party traffic (DV3, CM, GAM/DFP).

  • Perform fraud/spam investigations using various data sources, identify product vulnerabilities and drive anti-abuse experiments. Work with engineers interacts cross-functionally with stakeholders to improve operational workflows via process improvements, automation, and anti-abuse system creation.

  • Conduct complex fraud investigations and identify gaps in current defenses, explore/experiment with new signals and develop solutions for scalable enforcement on non-compliant publisher inventory with a focus on Android.

  • Identify and implement advanced machine learning techniques, as well as automated/scaled defenses. Work with Product, Engineering, and Trust and Safety teams to prevent abuse by changing policies and closing product loopholes.
