Microsoft Corporation Critical Environment Program Manager (Energy & Environment) in Dublin, Ireland

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Energy and Environmental Program Manager, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Manage local energy and environmental programs for the datacenters

  • Be the site based Subject Matter Expert for Energy & Environmental aspects.

  • Communicate to all site-based personnel relevant information on a regular basis.

  • Support operations personnel in complying with regulatory obligations.

  • Interact with facility personnel, company management, legal counsel, environmental sustainability team, and other relevant internal stakeholders.

  • Define and implement necessary training for facility operations personnel for managing energy & environmental issues.

  • Support site incident investigations.

  • Interact with regulatory agency personnel on major environmental issues.

  • Monitor development of legislative changes in the region, analyze potential impacts on operations, and provide updates to the site personnel.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Environmental Science, or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications:

  • Significant years of combined experience in energy or environmental management in the region.

  • Significant years of Datacenter experience

  • Experience with ISO50001 or ISO 1400
