The Data Center Global Services team is looking for an exceptional individual to join our Commissioning Team as a Project Coordinator responsible for the initial development of each project from a financial, legal, and logistical aspect. Our Project Coordinators will possess the ability to collect, analyze, and manage quantitative data by creating meaningful reports to drive business improvement. This role requires both independent contribution as well as the ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams. The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office with a solid background in Excel and SharePoint. The candidate must have the ability to handle multiple tasks within a fast paced environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Ability to manage scope of work relative to site specific needs and financial constraints.

  • Communicating important business information and requirements to multiple teams.

  • Ability to understand, request, forecast and track budgets, contingency, POs and invoices.

  • Ability to create, organize and audit Capital Appropriation Requests.

  • Ability to track multiple projects globally and create reports.

  • Collaborate with multiple teams including engineering, operations, legal, finance and procurement.

  • Partner with finance and leadership to reallocate funding between different budgets.

  • Understanding of purchasing and invoicing processes.

  • Understanding of vendor procurement through the competitive bid process

  • Coordination of on-boarding & induction of vendors

  • Work as part of a team to develop process and procedures to ensure availability to our end customers.

  • Foster teamwork and employee involvement, with processes to encourage innovation and growth.

About the team

The AWS Data Center Commissioning Team (ACx) is a wholly independent business within the DCGS organization. This team of veteran professional Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Controls Engineers, Architectural Engineers, Project Managers, Operators and seasoned Amazonians are uniquely positioned to provide deeply detailed engineering and operational review and testing of equipment designs, operational functionality and construction practices. We are focused on ensuring the rapid delivery of a quality product while maintaining full transparency, recording metrics of manufacturer/contractor/equipment issues pre-PFHO, and identifying opportunities for all our peers and customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in program or project management

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestic and internationally for up to 25% of the time and Required to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office; reimbursed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology

  • Experience in MS Access and SQL

  • Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document

  • Have experience in building data driven dashboards
