Business Analyst, Finance

Based in Citywest, Dublin, as part of the Global IT organisation for Colgate, the successful applicant will be a key part of the European team responsible for delivering Finance solutions across the Europe Africa EurAsia regions. The work is fast paced, leading edge and relies on great collaboration between all team members both IT and with our business partners.

Scope of responsibility:

The successful candidate will be part of a global team that is helping to shape Colgate-Palmolive Systems to meet Finance needs of the future. The role entails partnership with Business functions and working as part of a broader IT team delivering Finance IT solutions that streamline and improve processes for our business.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing and supporting Financial IT solutions to meet the needs of our business (specifically budget and planning applications)

  • Communicating status on assigned deliverables to project managers / direct line manager

  • Working as part of a larger diverse IT team

  • Completing project documentation as required during the phases of a project e.g. requirements gathering, test cycles (Sprints) and Cutover

  • Partnering with business and other IT stakeholders e.g.requirements gathering, testing, cutover and support

Candidates applying should have the following:

  • A team mindset with attention to detail and a willingness to work as part of a larger team

  • Ability to work on your own initiative

  • Effective Communication Skills and Fluent in English

  • Bachelor's Degree in either Information Technology / Computer Science / Finance disciplines

  • 3 to 4 years of technical IT implementation experience in at least one of the following areas (It is an advantage to have implementation experience in more than one of the areas mentioned).

  • Configuration/development in SAP Financial applications

  • SAP Analytics on cloud

  • Technical experience with Relational databases, query authoring (SQL,Python) as well as working with a variety of databases and data structures in cloud based environments (GCP/Cloud, AWS or Azure)

  • Technical experience on Data flow, Data Pipeline & Workflow management tools : Airflow, Luigi etc (preferred)

  • Technical experience in visualisation technologies e.g. Power BI, Sigma , Domo and/or Tableau

  • Knowledge of Financial statements, reporting structure and KPIs

  • Analytical skills - ability to analyse, synthesise and interpret financial data and develop IT solutions

  • Scoping and Requirements gathering experience

  • Experience working with a project methodology e.g. agile

  • The following skills are an advantage for candidates applying for this position

  • Proficiency in financial modelling and forecasting, budget and planning technologies with multiple dimensions

  • Experience of working with global or remote teams

  • Industrial experience in the FMCG or in a Consumer product company
