Job Summary: The Logistics Assistant will support the optimization of material and product flow within our manufacturing facility. This role focuses on assisting with logistics operations to ensure efficient supply chain performance, cost reduction, and timely product delivery. The ideal candidate has a detail-oriented mindset, experience in logistics within a manufacturing environment, and a proactive approach to supporting logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis Support:
- Assist in gathering, organizing, and analyzing logistics data, including inventory levels, shipping times, and transportation costs.
- Help prepare and maintain logistics reports to provide insights into operational efficiency, trends, and improvement areas.
Inventory Assistance:
- Monitor and report on inventory levels to support efficient stock rotation and prevent stockouts or excess stock.
- Collaborate with procurement and production teams to assist in maintaining optimal inventory levels aligned with production schedules.
Process Optimization Support:
- Identify logistical inefficiencies and assist in implementing solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Work with cross-functional teams to support changes, including automation and streamlined workflows.
Vendor and Transportation Coordination:
- Assist in coordinating with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely material and product delivery.
- Support transportation provider evaluation and negotiations to optimize delivery schedules and reduce costs.
Forecasting and Planning Assistance:
- Provide support for demand forecasting by supplying data and insights on logistics trends.
- Assist in developing logistics plans to support production and distribution based on demand projections.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Help ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records, including shipment logs, customs documentation, and regulatory filings.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with production, warehouse, sales, and customer service teams to ensure smooth flow of goods and information across the supply chain.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide logistical support and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field required.
- 1+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of Excel; familiarity with data visualization tools is a bonus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for working with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements in manufacturing logistics is a plus.
