Summary:
The purpose of this position is to ensure regulatory compliance of environmental activities by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Oversees all waste generation / storage / disposal.
Develops action plans to minimize waste generation streams.
Administers Hazardous Waste program / contracts / payments.
Maintains Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) & Storm Water Pollution Protection (SWPP) Plan for sites.
Monitors machine disposal / transfers.
Controls conservation and recycling programs.
Verifies the Chemical usage by Department.
Coordinates with Maintenance Group about erosion control issues.
Submits regulatory and internal environmental reports as required.
Maintains manifest logs and files.
Maintains data required for the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA) 312 & 313, and Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) reporting.
Manages documents for Hazardous Waste & Substance fees and taxes.
Investigates and documents all incidents involving permit violations and develops corrective actions.
Trains employees on environmental compliance, waste management & reduction, energy conservation and recycling programs.
Performs Environmental Inspections, Compliance Audits & 5S Audits. Logs data and submits reports.
Develops thorough knowledge of YKK's Environmental Compliance Program
Assume role as ISO 14001 Coordinator. Maintain and update environmental aspects, procedures and work instructions. Develop and track objectives and targets, assist with audits, maintain the corrective action program and report EMS status to EMR.
Performs other position-related duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
Required - Bachelor's degree (BS) from four-year college or university in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science
Certificates and Licenses:
Preferred - Waste Water Certification
Familiarity with RCRA, EPCRA, CAA, CWA, SWPPP, CERCLA, SPCC, TSCA, OSHA and ISO 14001 Standard
