Jumeirah Creekside is a contemporary lifestyle hotel located 2km from Dubai International Airport in the heart of old Dubai. Set in landscaped grounds overlooking Dubai Creek, the hotel offers 292 rooms and suites, 21 meeting rooms, four restaurants, an award-winning spa and access to sports and leisure complex, The Aviation Club. About the Job:

Train all new colleagues to the standards required by the hotel. Ensure that the standards and procedures are maintained by continuous on the job supervision, coaching and training of colleagues. The objective is to achieve goals that contribute to the growth of Organization. Team leaders motivate and inspire their team by creating an environment that promotes positive communication, encourages bonding of team members, and demonstrates flexibility. Ensures that guest’s needs are always anticipated.

Your main duties will include:

  • Reports for duty punctually always wearing hotel uniform and name badge.

  • Ensures colleagues report for duty punctually, well-groomed and wear the correct uniform and name badge.

  • Always provides courteous and professional service and training.

  • Provides constant monitoring of the service standards and cleaning standards of the housekeeping colleagues in designated areas.

  • Communicates new or amended procedures to relevant departments/ colleagues in a timely manner, ensuring they have been understood.

  • Develops deep cleaning schedules and sees that they are monitored.

  • Relieves in supervisory capacity when required

  • Is aware of the company’s Quality Policy, Vision, Mission Statement, Guiding Principles and Hallmarks and ensuring that these are put into practice in our daily work activities.

  • Liaises with engineering to ensure all equipment is in good order and that all other repairs are done on a timely basis.

  • Liaises with other departments to ensure that guests receive the very best service.

  • Understands and is aware of all fire and safety procedures.

  • Ensures keys are handled in a secure manner.

  • Controls department forms and records according to the Jumeirah standards for Document Control.

  • Takes charge of the relevant shifts.

  • Understands, communicates and ensures the Departmental Performance Plan is understood by all colleagues.

  • Conduct training and re-training of colleagues in accordance with JI policy.

  • Ensure safety standards are adhered to in all assigned areas.

  • Evaluate procedures and suggest improvements.

  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all housekeeping equipment and schedule necessary preventive maintenance and repair work.

  • Attend training sessions as scheduled achieving 6 hours of training per month (18-hour average for 3 months).

  • To have in-depth knowledge about the hotel and its facilities.

  • Attending department meetings that require a representative from housekeeping to be present.

  • To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Management.

  • Ensure that all housekeeping attendants report for duty punctually following JI grooming policies.

  • Assist in the building of an efficient team of colleagues by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety and development.

  • Assist in the training of the colleagues ensuring that they have the necessary skills to perform their duties with maximum efficiency

  • Supervise the colleagues within the department ensuring that the correct standards are followed, and methods of service are maintained.

  • Ensure that housekeeping attendants exercise proper discipline and courtesy in attending to guest needs and provide regular feedback to them.

  • Maintain and control the consumption of cleaning materials and manage the stock of cleaning supplies.

Administrational

  • Prepare duty roster for housekeeping attendants.

  • Assists in the monthly and quarterly inventories of linen, cleaning and guest supplies.

  • Ensures that a complete handover is done at the end of every shift, logging any relevant information or requests.

  • Ensure all discrepancies are reported in a timely manner.

  • Attendants’ various briefings as requested by the Executive Housekeeper or designate.

Financial

  • Controls the usage of guest amenities, cleaning chemicals, vacuum cleaners and linen ensuring that there is no misuse, wastage or over ordering.

Training

  • Plans and revises as needed the monthly training plan with the Executive Housekeeper/ Housekeeping Manager or designate focusing on the weaknesses of the Department.

  • Schedules monthly training plan coordinate it with the Executive Housekeeper/ Housekeeping Manager or designate.

  • Executes classroom training as well as on the job training.

  • Develops colleagues to attain their full potential.

  • Regularly reviews the training results and needs with the Executive Housekeeper/ Housekeeping Manager.

  • Constantly spot checks colleagues to maintain standards applied.

Evaluates colleagues training needs and development.

Other Duties

  • Assists Housekeeper Manager/Asst. Housekeeping Manager and designate in projects such as guestrooms decoration, rehabilitation and special maintenance works.
