Vertiv Corporation Sr. Manager, Electronics Engineering in Dover, Ohio

Job Summary Vertiv is seeking a Sr. Manager, Electronics Engineering to lead Vertiv's Core Engineering Electronics team. Lead and manage a diverse, cross-functional team of electronics engineers, PCB designers and Library & Component Engineers across multiple global locations. The team includes groups based in both the United States and India and consists of 30+ engineers. The team is responsible for the development of electronic prototypes, PCBs in support of products from multiple global lines of business, as well as the support for Vertiv's global electronics component libraries. The team also includes a group of component engineers who work to identify and evaluate alternate components, track, and respond to component availability issues, and maintain component information in Vertiv's global PLM system. Responsibilities: * Will lead the Electronics team in the implementation of electronic designs and associated collateral in a consistent and timely manner, on budget, and with high quality. * Work in coordination with international design teams and will coordinate with external suppliers and consultants as appropriate. * As a part of the Core Engineering organization, he / she will be expected to maintain a set of SLAs and KPIs for the team and to report regularly on the team's progress toward its defined goals. Requirements: * BSEE or equivalent is required. An advanced engineering degree or an MBA is an advantage. * Minimum 10 years of experience in electronics design, with a strong preference for experience in the design and development of detailed schematics, circuit designs, and PCB layouts for multi-layer, high-speed and power electronics. * Ensure that designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety certifications like UL, RoHS, CE etc. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple simultaneous development projects, including both planned development efforts and ongoing product maintenance. * A solid understanding of product test design concepts, with an emphasis on design for automated testing. * Demonstrated experience in the use of modern electronic design tools. PCB Layout development experience using Mentor's Xpedition toolset is strongly preferred. * Siemens EDM implementation for Electronic Component Library Management experience is strongly preferred. * History of successfully developing, releasing, and maintaining commercial and/or industrial electronic products, demonstrating a solid understanding of full product lifecycle management. * A solid understanding of electronic design concepts, including processor and memory subsystem structure and interface design, is required. Experience with analog electronics, wireless systems, environmental sensors, and IoT is preferred. * Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma concepts is required. Formal DFx training or a Six Sigma Green Belt is advantageous. * Self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision and in a timely manner. * Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English. * Willingness to travel as needed, both domestically and internationally. Travel commitments of up to 20% of business days may be required. * Residence in (or willingness to relocate to) the Delaware, Ohio area is preferred, but Huntsville, Alabama is an acceptable alternative. * Minimum 5 years of experience in managing engineering organizations, ideally including experience in managing globally distributed teams. * Experience working with teams in India is strongly preferred.
