Job Description Summary

The Nurse will evaluate and provide quality Wound Care treatments to patients in keeping with the Alabama Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act and following Standards of Nursing Practice. He/She is responsible for the coordination of clinical activities of the Wound Care Center. These include but not limited to, utilization of skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating and providing care through the use of hospital and nursing standards. The Wound Care Nurse provides services for infants, pediatrics, adolescent, young adults, older adults, and geriatric population as related to Wound Care.

Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: Graduate of a School of Nursing with current registration as an RN in the State of Alabama. Preferred: Wound Care Certification. Medical Surgical, home health or wound care experience.

LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Ability to communicate effectively in an emergency situation.

SKILLS:

Entry level knowledge of Wound Care. Basic computer skills to include use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel as well as web-based database programs and the Internet Skills proficiency knowledge.
