SmartLam North America/International Beams/IB-XLAM Industrial Electrician - Electrical PLC Tech in Dothan, Alabama

Description:

The Industrial Electrician installs new equipment, conduit, wiring and connection boxes per standard. Determines the parts required for proper installation and obtains them. Electricians will perform troubleshooting and repair of equipment with voltage ratings up to and including 600 volts. Performs general troubleshooting of lighting circuits. Replaces motion sensors, photo eyes and switches. Will clearly communicates with coworkers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow safe work practices. Employee safety is the utmost important to us!
  • Follow all health and safety regulations including wearing appropriate protective equipment.
  • Performs highly skilled electrical maintenance tasks including equipment installation.
  • Repair and PM electrical machinery; this may include, but not limited to, such equipment as AC/DC motors, drives, pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyors and instrumentation and PLC controls.
  • In downtime situations, must be able to analyze the cause of breakdown with equipment.
  • Must also determine and complete maintenance repairs required to return the equipment to effective operating condition.
  • Follow and adhere to safety lockout procedures and strictly adhere to plant safety rules.
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as in a group.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

High school diploma or GED

Stable employment history with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in Industrial Maintenance work AND/OR equivalent education to include vocational/technical school certificate/diploma.

Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, on-call and rotating shifts and holidays.

Proficient in use of hand and power tools

Experience with reading electrical drawings and schematics.

Troubleshooting experience, including the use of necessary test instruments such as digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, megger, etc.

Experience using a computer for record keeping and documentation.
