Amergis Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist - Crisis Team in Diamond Springs, California
The Marriage and Family Counselor provides professional counseling services designed in assisting participants in behavior change to maintain a healthy lifestyle and quality of life through individual and group therapy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides professional counseling services to patients/clients and their families
May counsel and teach behavior change, stress management, and other program classes, which assist the participants in achieving prescribed objectives
Administers, interprets, and assesses the results of related program-administered assessment tests
Assists with the development of mind/body programming into wellness programs, i.e. cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, weight management
Provides education to patients and families related to issues that impact patient/client care
Conducts lectures and participates in community outreach activities
Identifies concerns and makes referrals to other specialists when needed
Provides guidance and coaching to staff members working with clients as needed
Adheres to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies and procedures
Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or related field preferred
Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work, Family Therapy preferred
Licensed as a Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) as required by state regulations and/or contract specifications
One (1) year of experience in counseling preferred
Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age
