Production Manager for immediate long term contract position just outside of Concord, Massachusetts! The right person for this role will have 10+years experience leading a team in a 3 shift / 24 hour production environment.

Global organization designs and manufactures specialty compounds for applications that are extruded or molded by their customers into a variety of everyday products and applications. The right person will be a seasoned Production Manager to lead the production team to a continuous improvement culture, TPM culture.

The person who will be successful in this role will be a great communicator, passionate about their work and not afraid to be hands on! This is a great team and an exciting opportunity with an excellent organization. Must have 10+ years of successful supervisory experience of operating in a production shift environment, (preferred plastics industry) with a change management mindset.

responsibilities:

  • Manage shift supervisors and their teams ensuring effective and safe operation of production of day-to-day production needs that will best utilize resources including equipment, materials and staff to ensure deliverables.

  • Communicate and ensure all quality standards understood and maintained in adherence to all company, state and local safety procedures.

  • Work closely with EHS and team members, to ensure reporting of all accidents/incidents or near misses, assisting in investigations, follow up with safety improvements, and ensure compliance with environmental programs

  • Manage and ensure that all employees have all necessary training related to job duties including safety, quality, equipment procedures, and standards of operations.

  • Manage and ensure equipment standards and operations are maintained correctly to minimize downtime and unnecessary repairs by working closely with maintenance and process engineering to plan for needed PM.

  • Develop a continuous improvement strategy in partnership with the Management Team and key business stakeholders.

  • Maintain and ensure accuracy and completion of all reporting related to production meeting deadlines.

  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred in process/mechanical or chemical engineering, business management or quality assurance

  • Minimum of 10+ years of successful supervisory experience of operating in a production shift environment. Preferred plastics processing in compound production or plastics extrusion production.

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of lean manufacturing, to include continuous improvement, change management, TPM, TQM, Goal Alignment and Health and safety.

  • Excellent leadership and people management skills. Experience of developing, mentoring and setting KPI's for a team of people.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9000, TS 16949, Lean or Six Sigma preferred.
