Summary About the Position: Serves as the Chief of Planning Office in Detroit, MI. Responsibilities Discusses major policy or technical decisions and recommendations with the corporate team. Coordinates and manages the District's Investigation, Continuing Authorities, Flood Plain Management, Special Studies, and Environmental Programs. Plans, schedules, coordinates, supervises and guides all activities of the Office to accomplish all mission functions. Advises on applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures of the Corps of Engineers related to proposed and on-going Civil Works projects. Exercises staff supervision and overall management responsibilities for all activities of the Office. Prepares pre and post-authorization and environmental decision documents on a variety of water resources projects and assures quality control/assurance of all such documents. Designs, develops and promulgates working procedures, policies and methods for the guidance of Planning Office staff. Specialized experience: Experience developing, coordinating and managing the District's General Investigations, Continuing Authorities, Flood Plain Management, Special Studies and Environment Programs.
