R1 RCM Strategic Project Manager in Detroit, Michigan
As our Strategic Project Manager, Operations Strategy and Programs you will execute initiatives that drive operational efficiency and business growth.
Daily you will be responsible for delivering on key projects aligned with organizational goals, optimizing processes, and ensuring project success through industry best practices, project governance, and project resource management.
To thrive in this role, the successful candidate will be able to prepare and deliver on the needs of leadership, while managing the challenges that come from supporting executive-level audiences and projects.
Here’s what you will experience as the Strategic Project Manager, Operations Strategy and Programs:
Strategic Planning & Execution
Manage a variety of projects of significant business impact from optimization, business continuity, and new product enablement
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business goals into project goals, building actionable plans that deliver measurable results.
Lead projects that support organizational scalability, process improvement, and cost-effectiveness.
Project & Program Management
Responsible for project scoping, requirements gathering, and planning efforts for enterprise-wide software application implementations / conversions, including infrastructure needs.
Oversee projects through their entire life cycle, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and strategic objectives.
Ensure the creation, documentation, and publishing of project artifacts, including schedules and risk registers. Support maintenance of documentation, processes, and measurements related to project governance, visibility, and performance.
Implement and refine project management processes, methodologies, and governance to improve consistency, accountability, and efficiency across projects.
Review project performance metrics, progress, and outcomes, taking corrective actions as needed to keep initiatives on track.
Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement
Facilitate efforts to streamline processes and eliminate inefficiencies across operations, utilizing data analysis to drive process optimization.
Apply methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile to implement continuous improvement initiatives and ensure best practices.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of operational projects, using metrics and KPIs to track performance and drive accountability.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
Develop and maintain relationships with personnel, stakeholders, and executive management.
Prepare and present regular reports, dashboards, and updates for stakeholders, highlighting progress, challenges, and recommended actions
Provide insights on project strategy, prioritization, risks, and resource allocation for reporting to leadership
Change Management & Transformation
Engage in change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes, tools, and initiatives, focusing on stakeholder engagement and training.
Execute change management plans to guide projects through transformation efforts
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in project management and/or leading organizational change initiatives.
Knowledge of the following industries: Healthcare, Revenue Cycle Management
Working knowledge of various project management methodologies.
Strategic mindset with the ability to translate visions into actionable plans and drive organizational alignment.
Experience working within cross-functional teams and resolving complex barriers to project completion
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management or related field.
Understanding of agile software development
Executive reporting and presentation skills
Ability to adapt to change, manage ambiguity, and drive results in a dynamic environment.
Must be proficient with a variety of software, including:
Microsoft Office
Project Management software and tools
Presentation tools
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management or related field, (preferred) OR Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Lean, or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred)
Ability to travel once a year to an R1 office
For this US-based position, the base pay range is $71,930.00 - $109,236.00 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
