Lambert Senior Media Buyer in Detroit, Michigan
Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Media Buyer with expertise in TV and radio advertising to join our growing media team at Lambert by LLYC. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of executing successful media buying strategies, optimizing campaigns, and managing client relationships. This role requires deep knowledge of broadcast and other traditional media, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to analyze and interpret campaign performance data. As a Senior Media Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing media plans that drive impactful results for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Media Planning & Buying: Develop, negotiate, and execute TV, radio, print and OOH media plans for clients across various industries, ensuring alignment with client goals and target audiences.
Client Collaboration: Work closely with account leads and clients to understand marketing objectives, budget constraints, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide strategic recommendations based on industry trends and audience insights.
Negotiation & Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media vendors, networks, and stations to secure optimal rates and placements. Negotiate cost-effective media buys and maximize added-value opportunities.
Campaign Management: Oversee the execution of TV, radio, print and OOH campaigns from start to finish, ensuring accurate trafficking of ads, timely delivery, and budget compliance. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the campaign lifecycle.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor campaign performance, analyze data, and provide regular reports to clients. Adjust strategies as needed to ensure campaigns meet or exceed performance goals.
Industry Trends & Insights: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in TV and radio advertising, including audience behavior, new technologies, and emerging opportunities. Share insights with clients and internal teams to optimize campaigns.
Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior media buyers and interns, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment within the media team.
Budget Management: Manage and track media budgets across multiple campaigns, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and delivering maximum ROI for clients.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with creative, digital, and analytics teams to ensure media strategies align with overall campaign objectives, branding, and performance goals.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in media buying, with a strong focus on TV and radio advertising. Experience in both national and local media markets is a plus.
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of TV and radio buying processes, including planning, negotiation, and trafficking.
Strong understanding of media metrics and performance analysis (e.g., GRPs, ratings, impressions, cost-per-thousand).
Proficiency in media buying software and tools (e.g., Strata, MediaOcean, BVS, etc.).
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field preferred.
Additional Skills (Preferred but not required):
Experience with digital media planning and buying is a plus.
Knowledge of emerging broadcast technologies and audience measurement tools.
