Description NaphCare has an excellent opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team at Wayne County Jail in Detroit, MI. Pay rates range per hour based on type of license, certification, Shift, FT, PRN, temporary contract, site needs, licensure, and experience.

The Medical Billing Specialist will review all authorizations for completeness, requests and consolidate hospital and physician claims, provide accurate estimates and monthly fiscal reconciliation, track and report catastrophic cases, and report open and closed obligations each month. Additionally, this position will aid in managing relationships with various providers while also multitasking to promote accuracy and timely distribution of medical claims.

Position Responsibilities: Pursue claims for all authorizations. Utilize medical terminology knowledge to review medical records and authorization scenarios. Properly organize and designate claims as "ready-to-bill". Receive statements and ensure that authorizations have been loaded to match the corresponding statements. Demonstrate an ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and multitask while promoting efficiency and effectiveness within daily workload. Exhibit a high comfort level in working with large volumes of data. Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and a commitment to customer service. Provides support to the medical scheduling department, including coverage when needed. Additional duties and specific projects as assigned.

Position Requirements: High School Diploma or higher and at least two years of recent experience in claims processing. Working knowledge of medical terminology and medical billing.  Specific experience working with UBs and 1500s is necessary to be successful within this position.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong written and verbal communication skills are also required.
