Role description:

Arcadis seeks an experienced Lead Roadway Design Engineer to join our team in Michigan.

As the Lead Roadway Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing roadway design projects from concept to completion. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, collaborating with clients, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and by regulatory requirements. This position requires a strong background in roadway design, project management, and team leadership.

Role accountabilities: Lead and manage roadway design projects, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget constraints. Provide technical expertise and guidance to the project team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Supervise and mentor a team of roadway design engineers, providing support and guidance for professional development. Foster a positive team culture that promotes collaboration, creativity, and efficiency. Develop and review detailed roadway plans, specifications, and construction documents. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards. Cultivate strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with clients to identify opportunities for additional services and support business development efforts. Implement and enforce quality control processes to ensure the accuracy and precision of roadway design deliverables. Conduct thorough reviews of project documentation to identify and address potential issues. Stay current with applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations. Ensure that all roadway design projects comply with relevant safety and environmental guidelines. Effectively communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to internal teams, clients, and stakeholders. Prepare and deliver technical presentations as needed.

Required Qualifications: 10 years of experience in roadway design and project management. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineer Professional Engineers License (PE) Experience with MDOT bid document preparation utilizing ORD and other software

Key Attributes: Engineering experience with infrastructure design, which includes extensive experience in the preparation of construction plans, technical reports, construction estimates, and project displays. Proficiency with MicroStation, GeoPak, OpenRoads, and Corridor Modeling. Experience with MDOT design standards, practices, and policies. Ability to manage and run meetings and to prepare written reports and meeting minutes. The ability to work on and manage multiple assignments simultaneously. Experience in a client-facing role, either as an individual or part of a team and making presentations and managing client expectations.

Preferred Qualifications: AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills are a plus Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations. Bridge design experience
