Essential functions (job duties):

Prepare, teach, and evaluate courses, primarily courses related to one’s area of clinical specialization.

Apply teaching strategies appropriate to students’ learning needs.

Engage in scholarly activities including, but not limited to, publication of clinical, pedagogical, or research-based papers in journals or books; presentations at local, regional or national/international conferences.

Conduct and participate in clinical scholarship, teaching scholarship, or research projects in collaboration with other faculty and students.

Serve on faculty committees and task forces.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Unique duties:

Qualifications:

Doctorate Degree required.

Current Advanced Practice Certification required

Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate level or higher in Nursing using both didactic and clinical methods

Recent clinical practice required

Candidate must present the ability to perform the work required, with a previously established pattern of acceptable attendance and performance

Preferred qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will have experience in at least one of the following areas: care of families and/or as a Family Nurse Practitioner, community or population health, care of children, or care of mothers and babies, with the ability to teach other Nursing courses (i.e., Medical-Surgical Nursing, Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing, Community Health, OB, Pediatric Nursing etc.), especially if specialty-area courses are not offered within a given semester.
