Amazon Executive Assistant , Business Data Technologies in Detroit, Michigan

The Worldwide Amazon Stores organization is looking for an Executive Assistant who wants to work in a fast-paced, exciting, and growing organization. We are looking for someone to support VP, Business Data Technologies on our BDT team in Detroit, Michigan. This will be a Lead EA role and the role will have two direct reports who are currently supporting six L8s within the organization.

Business Data Technologies (BDT) makes it easier for teams across Amazon to produce, store, catalog, secure, move, and analyze data at massive scale. Our managed solutions combine standard AWS tooling, open-source products, and custom services to free teams from worrying about the complexities of operating at Amazon scale. This lets BDT customers move beyond the engineering and operational burden associated with managing and scaling platforms, and instead focus on scaling the value they can glean from their data, both for their customers and their teams. We own the one of the biggest (largest) data lakes for Amazon where 1000’s of Amazon teams can search, share, and store EB (Exabytes) of data in a secure and seamless way; using our solutions, teams around the world can schedule/process millions of workloads on a daily basis. We provide enterprise solutions that focus on compliance, security, integrity, and cost efficiency of operating and managing EBs of Amazon data.

This Executive Assistant will be responsible for handling confidential information and maintaining professionalism in dealing with senior executives. Role responsibilities include managing multiple complex calendars, planning and organizing events of all sizes, and coordinating domestic and international travel. This candidate will help build a positive team environment and establish working relationships inside and outside of the group.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of senior level leadership support, or 3+ years of Amazon experience

  • High school or equivalent diploma

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications

  • Experience with executive level calendar management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Superior attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines

  • Ability to complete complex tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Demonstrated ability to design and improve processes

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments at any given time

  • High level of integrity and discretion

  • Impeccable attention to detail

  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
