Wayne County Probate Court Document Processor in Detroit, Michigan

Description:

The Wayne County Probate Court is looking for a Court Clerical Worker V-Document Processor. This position, in accordance with laws, court rules, and court policies and procedures, his position, in accordance with laws, court rules, and court policies and procedures, will process documents of average to intermediate complexity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately access computer for inquiry.
  • Maintains the image of the Court through professional, courteous, accurate, and timely responses to inquiries made by the judge, attorneys, coworkers, management and the public in any form, including email.
  • Accurately and timely enter information from accepted petitions into CourtView completing the record; including but not limited to interested persons and any docket entries that may be needed.
  • Accurately and timely enter data into CourtView using specific computer codes, and scanning/imaging documents when applicable.
  • Accurately and timely process service by generating notices of hearing to the appropriate interested parties on cases.
  • Accurately and timely collect, sort, prioritize and deliver documents in a timely manner.
  • Generate and process departmental quality assurance reports; review data for accuracy, verify and correct missing images daily, follow up with pending issues.
  • Work with courtroom staff to resolve pending issues and facilitate other requests.
  • Accurately and timely review and process all assigned work in the imaging "queues."
  • Have knowledge of court paper flow to be able to locate and retrieve information in order to handle the problems that may arise in the work unit.
  • Make appropriate referrals to other departments as needed.
  • Initiates and/or generates case records and Letters of Guardianship/Authority by accurately entering into the computer record appropriate information.
  • Receives, retrieves, and distributes departmental communications whether via email, facsimile, inter-office, or first-class mail.
  • Accurately processes checks, credit cards, cash and ePayments received for payment.
  • Set hearings on petitions processed for payment.
  • Immediately and accurately processes, through the court's cash register, all payments for established statutory fees and other payments ordered by the court.
  • Ensures the daily balancing of assigned cash drawer with daily cash reports.
  • Maintains adequate inventory of all supplies necessary to perform cashier duties.
  • Assist with the removal and destruction of records/files.
  • Perform duties within any other area of the Records Department as assigned.
  • Process/route/distribute, incoming and outgoing mail for the entire court.
  • Facilitates the work of management by performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Will be determined through:

  • A written examination.
  • An oral interview by a management panel appointed by the employer to determine the applicant's ability to do the job.
  • Promotional Potential.
