Henry Ford Health System Director, Epic Community Connect in Detroit, Michigan

The Director of Epic, Community Connect leads the planning, implementation, and support of Epic and other clinical systems for Henry Ford Health System. Management and professional duties include leadership of the department and special projects as assigned. Ensures consistency with organizational philosophy and goals, compliance with applicable business, operational and clinical practices, and the provision of safe and high-quality patient care.

Reporting to the System Director, Clinical Technology, the Director of Epic, Community Connect will have oversight of five Managers and total staff of more than 40. The ability to develop and mentor resources will be essential to the continued success of the team and the growth of the department. This leader will need to be comfortable working and leading in a fast paced, high performing culture focused on accountability and collaboration.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

  • Eight (8) years required, 10 years preferred leadership experience and progressive responsibility in Epic

    o Technical experience: Strong knowledge of state-of-the art engineering approaches in design, build, testing, debugging problems, and ongoing technical support. Able to articulate previous examples of workflows and processes associated with previous IT experience.

    o Clinical experience: Strong knowledge/experience in clinical workflows and processes. Able to articulate previous examples of workflows and processes associated with clinical experience integrated with IT solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role on a major project or change management efforts specific to Epic

  • Must be able to handle difficult and sensitive situations, using sound, independent judgment within general policy and legal guideline.

  • Prior experience working within a Clinically Integrated Network, with the understanding of the impact on successful partnership between internal and third-party partners.

  • Excellent Strategic Thinker: possess ability to provide thoughtful leadership.

    EDUCATION REQUIRED :

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required; master’s degree preferred
