The Press Tender performs and monitors functions such as marking, labeling, packing, or wrapping materials and monitors and inspects product as it is being processed to maintain parts or products that will meet customer requirements and needs. Candidate is aware of any nonconforming parts or products and follows quality procedures to address nonconforming material. Candidate reports to the group leader or supervisor any quality issues during his shift. Candidate follows safety guidelines, training and policies. Starts machines and observes machine operation to detect product or material defects or malfunctions of machine. Stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor. Performs minor machine maintenance or repairs such as oiling machines, opening valves, changing forming and cutting dies, parts, setting guides, or clearing away material. Feeds product to machines and unloads packaged product. Replenishes packaging supplies such as wrapping paper, plastic sheet, boxes, cartons, glue, ink, or labels. Mounts and loads materials or places materials in hopper or other feeding devices. In operating machinery, depresses pedals, presses buttons, or moves levers to clean glue, label or stapler container. Interacts and develops employee quality awareness. Maintains a commitment to the company vision and quality policy. Tallies number of units of product packaged or records information such as size, weight, and type of products packaged.
