RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement strategies to support student learning.

  • Encourage student engagement through creative teaching methods.

  • Ability to be on time and follow through with responsibilities

  • Ability to serve as a positive role model for students

  • Ability to anticipate problems and take preventive action.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, staff, teachers, and administrators.

  • Supervise children on field trips.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • How to relate well with students.

  • Understanding and ability to meet developmental needs of preschool and school age students.

  • Knowledge and skill in childcare / child development, including what students are capable of at different age levels.

  • Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures.

  • Knowledge of students' activities that will get the child to use both their skills and imagination.

  • Knowledge of child to staff ratios

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Documentation of incident reports.

  • Assist team leaders or teachers with implementing during summer programs and activities.

  • Develop positive relationships and communicate effectively with students and school staff.

  • Greet parents and students when they arrive and leave.

  • Communicate student behaviors with parents on a daily basis.

  • Maintain confidentiality of student information.

  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, orderly, and safe environment.

  • Utilize space effectively to meet the needs of students.

  • Maintain appropriate child/staff ratios at all times.

  • Follow Food Safety/Sanitation guidelines when preparing and distributing snacks.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.

Successful completion of criminal background investigation.

Ability to complete required training within 90 days of hire.
