Descriptions:

EFCO Corporation is a leading concrete steel formwork and shoring manufacturer headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa. We are seeking an experienced Lead Checker to join our Research and Development Team.

Duties:

  • Verify custom mechanical assemblies meet all functional requirements and design goals in coordination with Research and Development Engineers.

  • Verify manufacturing detail drawings for correctness and completeness.

  • Collaborate with our Research and Development Engineers to create solutions for the next generation of formwork products.

  • Work with our manufacturing team to troubleshoot assembly problems that may occur during prototyping and product launch.

  • Coordinate with our purchasing department to procure outside purchase quotes and orders.

  • Responsible for the complete delivery and coordination of all files to the Engineering Technical Service Team when creating standard products.

  • Train and mentor other checkers and CAD Designers as needed.

  • In charge of maintaining a process of keeping models, drawings, and other files organized.

  • Assist with building product test setups and prototype testing of new product designs.

    Requirements:

  • Associates degree or equivalent.

  • 15 years minimum checking experience or other industry-related experience.

  • General construction knowledge and ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.

  • Proficiency in 3D Mechanical drafting software such as Autodesk Inventor.

  • Ability to assemble and disassemble mechanical devices.

    Work location: In person in Des Moines, Iowa

    Limited travel as necessary

    Final candidates will be required to pass a post-offer pre-employment physical and drug screen.
