Recommends and develops programs, partnerships, policies, and procedures that effectively manage employer and employee relationships and the employee performance review process.

Job Summary:

The Employee Relations Officer recommends and develops programs, partnerships, policies, and procedures that effectively manage employer and employee relationships and the employee performance review process. This position is also responsible for developing and communicating Human Resources policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.

Primary Functions and/or Responsibilities:

· Objectively mediates and coaches employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional situations, advising on appropriate corrective action to support mitigation of risk, behavior correction, improve performance, and to uphold policy/procedures

· Partners with HR Business Partners where managers or leaders may benefit from additional leadership coaching as cultural trends emerge

· Conducts internal investigations in an unbiased and fair manner to advise managers on disciplinary actions and makes recommendations that are consistent with company practices, policies, procedures, and government regulations or laws

· Supports EthicsPoint submissions as they relate to employee relations concerns and represents Human Resources on the Enterprise Risk Committee

· Develops the annual Affirmative Action Plan, EEO-1, and FDIC voluntary assessment from the OMWI and shares with leadership

· Provides strategic and functional leadership by developing and implementing performance management initiatives. Leads the performance management process and administers the system

· Ensures Human Resources policies and employment agreements stay abreast of legal and business changes and makes recommendations as appropriate. Manages the Employee Handbook updates and annual policy acknowledgment process and advises managers and employees on company policies and employment agreements, ensuring fair and consistent application across the organization. Monitors, documents and addresses any handbook violations around arrests, gifts, secondary employment, etc.

· Consults with managers and employees regarding ADA accommodation requests

· Manages any immigration matters that arise and serves as a back-up to the Talent Acquisition Officer in recruiting when they are out of the office

· Administers employee exit surveys and partners with HRBPs and managers to analyze data and address any concerns

· Prepares and delivers severance and other employment agreements in applicable employee relation situations. Responds to unemployment requests.

· Performs other duties as assigned or as may be necessary

Education and/or Experience:

· Four-year college degree with an emphasis in Human Resources or Psychology preferred

· At least 3 years of experience handling employee relations matters required

· Experience in the area of Performance Review processes highly preferred

· Four-year college degree in a related field preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

Specific Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

· Knowledge of current employment regulations and law

· Strong consultative skills and ability to remain objective

· Ability to keep information confidential

· Ability to work with all levels of employees and leadership

Hiring Salary Range

The hiring range below reflects targeted base salary. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s prior related experience & education and will be finalized at the time of offer. In addition to base salary, most positions are also eligible to participate in our annual bonus program. Select positions may also be eligible to earn incentives and/or commissions. Hiring Salary Range: $73,000 - $96,000
