EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Microbiology) in Depew, NY. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees. Experienced analysts are welcomed to apply.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Preparation and analysis of microbiological samples (air, water and bulk materials) for fungus and bacteria using optical and phase contrast microscopy Maintaining quality control records as needed and some clerical work may be involved for data entry Perform quality assurance/quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control Requirements:Minimum requirement High School Diploma or equivalentAssociates or Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Science: Geology, Microbiology, Biology, Environmental Science, and/or Chemistry a plusComfortable working with microscopes, analytical balances, biological safety cabinets, filtration manifolds and able to adhere to sterile technique and good laboratory practicesAbility to distinguish colors in order to perform analysisGood computer skills are important for data entry tasksAttention to detail and be willing to learn analytical skillsAble to work independently and within a team environmentWork under strict timelines in order to meet our clients' deadlinesStrong communication skills and comfortable with client interactionCross training in other laboratory disciplines as needed to meet business demandsAvailable Shift: Monday to Friday 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Training schedule to start will be Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending account.
