TEKsystems Sr. Workday Project Manager in Denver, Colorado
TEKsystems has a contract role for a Project Manager with extensive Workday experience. Our client needs a senior IT Project Manager through February of 2026 to manage a Workday implementation project.
The customer is in the hospitality/global attractions industry and will be implementing a new HRIS technology, Workday. They will implement all major modules (i.e. Payroll, Timekeeping, Benefits, Talent Acquisition and others).
The senior project manager should be very familiar with Workday and have multiple previous implementations. They will be transitioning away from ADP Payroll (have 2 separate instances in both U.S. and Canada), as well as a system called iCIMS that does applicant tracking for them. They also use spreadsheets and a lot of manual processes today; Workday will modernize their environment substantially.
The PM should:
1) Be a true expert in Workday, someone who's intimately familiar with it, but also can herd the cats and move things forward with the vendor.
2) He/she also needs to have particularly good knowledge of ADP Payroll - understand the backbone of the system and the implications when it's taken out of an environment.
3) Have experience with companies who have both a union and non-union employee base, run both U.S. and Canadian payroll, and have various retirement plans.
4) Be able to bring all pieces of the project together (i.e. relevant stakeholders, vendor, integrations, etc.)
There will NOT be a 3rd party implementation partner involved in this project.
The company has 4,000 employees during peak summer season and will have around 50 core users of Workday. They use Smartsheet for project tracking and Power BI as their visualization tool for reporting.
Location: ideally would like the resource in Denver because corporate leadership (including VP of HR) is here, but open to a remote candidate who's available to travel to Denver approximately once every 2 months. Consultant should also plan on being onsite in Denver for the initial week of project.
Timeline: Project will kick-off around January 16. Payroll should be ready to run in Workday by Q4 of 2025, will run in parallel with ADP initially, then ADP will be fully sunset by 1/1/26. Consultant will most likely roll off in February 2026.
