Our Sr Education Coordinator is responsible for organizing all elements of an assigned project area such as the Surgical Conference and other events, the Continuing Education application process, webinars, speaker coordination, poster presentation, etc. They will work in collaboration with members of the Perioperative Education team and external stakeholders, proactively communicating status updates and assuring timely & efficient completion of multiple projects simultaneously. The Sr Education Coordinator is also responsible for coordinating reports and completing administrative requirements for each project. The Sr Education Coordinator provides high level administrative support and documentation for the development of education products, recordkeeping requirements, and the Association's committees and other programs/projects as needed.

More about what you'll get to do as our Sr Education Coordinator: Coordinates the organization and administration of all phases of the education project, including the planning, implementation, and evaluation for assigned AORN continuing nursing education activities which are offered in various modalities, such as online courses through AORN's LMS or through webina Accurately enters all information into related systems or spreadsheets. Identifies and requests required documents from faculty/speakers/presenters/subject matter experts within established timelines for projects. Works collaboratively with appropriate individuals to identify education project timelines and communicates to supervisor any potential risks related to the Project. Analyzes work processes and works with the Perioperative Education team to develop improved processes for workflow, quality of services, and operations as they pertain to education activities; documents processes to ensure consistency across the team. Analyzes systems used to develop, implement, and evaluate educational activities to identify ways to automate process; collaborates with IT to identify the business rules for automated processes. Responds to questions from consumers of AORN education products and services. Solves problems as they arise and escalates issues when appropriate. Tracks expenses against assigned budget. Supports volunteer committees and groups assigned to education team nurse liaisons, tracking meetings, a tendees and activities as identified. Other duties as assigned.
Must Have's to be our Sr Education Coordinator: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree, preferably in Education, Project Management, or Business, or equivalent work experience may substitute for the education. 3 years of experience as an Education Assistant, Education Coordinator, Project Coordinator or related position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working in the healthcare industry. Experience working for an association or non-profit.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to quickly understand the range of AORN products and events. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate several projects with multiple timelines. Expertise with database management. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information. Excellent spelling, proofreading and editing skills. Must be able to compose letters, reports, and minutes and organize electronic and paper filing systems. Strong interpersonal skills with special emphasis on customer service, problem solving and decision making. Ability to work in a team environment, yet function independently, good decision-making skills. Fluency with Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Office, especially Excel. Proficiency and/or willingness to learn other systems as necessary (virtual meeting software, iMIS, learning management system, PE2, Cadmium, etc.).
