Modivcare SOX Oversight Manager in Denver, Colorado

This position is responsible for providing consultative and oversight services on the company's SarbanesOxley (“SOX”) Section 404 program and to continue to optimize our SOX compliance activities. Additionally this role will work closely with SOX control owners across the company, monitors the services delivered by our SOX controls testing firm.

You will...

  • Serve as a liaison between management and the external auditors.

  • Lead in the participation of certain key initiatives as a member of the Audit.

  • Coordinate documentation of SOX Section 404 processes and controls and review controls to ensure adequate design and identification of key and non-key controls for critical processes/accounts, including rationalizing and optimizing controls through automation.

  • Consult on new business initiatives, system implementations, accounting policy changes and assess the impact of such changes on internal controls to ensure enhancement of current accounting processes and controls.

  • Manage SOX Section 302 and 404-related aspects of AuditBoard, to include training and administering projects in addition to coordinating quarterly SOX Section 302 sub-certifications.

  • Liaise with the SOX controls testing firm performing testing on behalf of management (“SOX testers”) and external auditors to coordinate control walkthroughs and key controls testing.

  • Support management’s review of third party assurance reports, such as SOC1 reports - including user controls mapping for gap identification and deficiency impact evaluations.

  • Coordinate remediation of findings and deficiencies identified by SOX testers and external auditors, identify root causes, and advising control owners on internal control enhancements.

  • Monitor changes in the organization and processes to ensure the SOX controls are updated, and the changes are communicated, in a timely manner.

  • Oversee the status reports generated by the SOX testers that will be presented to management of the SOX compliance program and to the Audit Committee.

  • Perform SOX optimization reviews to ensure that the company maintains the proper controls needed to appropriately mitigate risk while being efficient in its SOX program execution.

  • Oversee the quality of the work performed by the SOX testers to ensure they deliver effective and efficient testing of SOX controls.

  • Oversee the work performed by the SOX testers to ensure annual SOX control testing is completed in a timely manner.

  • Direct the performance of readiness assessments to ensure process and SOX control changes are addressed proactively to ensure any deficiencies can be remediated before end of each year.

  • Facilitate the use of data analytic techniques to drive opportunities for control improvements and control testing efficiencies.

  • Provide guidance and training to management on SOX compliance and internal controls.

  • Provide assistance to executive and senior leadership in monitoring third party service provider billings.

  • May lead projects and perform other duties as assigned.

We are excited to speak to someone with the following...

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • Seven (7) plus years direct SOX Compliance, including SOX controls testing experience required.

  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) preferred.

  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preferred.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) preferred.

  • Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Salary: $ 108,700 - $141,100
