Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Structural (Bridge) Designer/Drafter to join our team in Denver!

In this role, you'll work on transportation infrastructure projects, with a focus on bridge design.

We're seeking candidates with at least 10+ years of experience in bridge drafting to grow into the role of leading our structural drafting team.

Based out of our downtown Denver office, this position offers the flexibility to work remotely up to three days a week however presence in the office is required for a minimum of two days a week.

We are looking for someone eager to take on a leadership role, mentoring junior staff while working closely with engineers to ensure a coordinated design process.

This position focuses on bridge and structural drafting, with experience in segmental bridge drafting being a plus. We are also seeking someone with experience using Bridge Information Modeling (BrIM)/(BIM) or an eagerness to learn and push forward new technology in this field.

Required Qualifications:

  • Utilize CAD software (MicroStation, AutoCAD) to prepare complex and detailed bridge and structural layout and design drawings.

  • Perform advanced drafting tasks, working both independently and collaboratively with engineers to ensure high-quality, coordinated designs.

  • Lead and mentor junior designers, providing technical guidance and overseeing their work on various projects.

  • Prepare reinforcing details, bar schedules, and bill of materials for structural elements.

  • Develop and review orthographic (2D) and isometric (3D) drawings.

  • Conduct design checks, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all deliverables.

  • Stay up-to-date with evolving design and drafting technology, particularly BrIM, and drive its implementation within the team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in structural and bridge drafting, with a proven track record in bridge drafting.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation; experience with BrIM or eagerness to learn and adopt BrIM technology.

  • Experience in bridge projects, particularly with DOT or municipal standards, such as CDOT or other state agencies.

  • Ability to interpret and ensure conformance to relevant CAD standards (state and municipal DOTs) and company policies.

  • Strong leadership, time management, and interpersonal skills.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Bluebeam.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 10+ years xperience in drafting segmentally constructed and/or complex bridges.

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Applied Science Drafting (or equivalent) from an accredited technical institute.

  • Proficiency in Revit, Tekla, Open Bridge Modeler or other advanced design platforms is a huge plus.

Salary Range:

$33.89 - $70.10
