SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Drive innovation and efficiency by leading advanced design projects, commissioning new equipment, and optimizing existing processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions from concept to commercialization. This position will directly contribute to key initiatives for the site: improving safety, supporting growth, maintaining specification leadership, enabling new product releases, reducing costs, and improving engagement.
REPORTING TO : Manager, Manufacturing Engineering
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Leadership: Drive and coordinate engineering projects to ensure timely completion and successful outcomes.
Safety Innovation: Implement cutting-edge solutions to reduce workplace risks and enhance safety culture, aligning with ANSI guidelines and exceeding OSHA requirements.
Problem-Solving Expert: Tackle complex engineering challenges with innovative approaches, leveraging fundamental principles to deliver effective solutions.
Mentorship and Development: Foster talent by sharing expertise, providing guidance, and mentoring team members.
Technical Proficiency: Conduct in-depth technical studies, develop detailed specifications, and create comprehensive technical plans.
Design Review: Ensure designs adhere to engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements through rigorous reviews.
Technological Advancements: Proactively research and implement new technologies to optimize manufacturing processes.
Technical Leadership: Serve as the department's go-to resource for assessing design feasibility and coordinating technical efforts.
Process Efficiency: Maintain accurate records and contribute to process improvement initiatives to drive company growth and process maturity along ISO/IATF standards.
Technical Support: Empower colleagues by providing expert guidance on SolidWorks, analysis techniques, testing methodologies, and result interpretation.
Knowledge Sharing: Cultivate a culture of knowledge sharing by establishing platforms for engineers and technical staff to exchange best practices.
Confidentiality: Safeguard sensitive product, process, and business information.
Adaptability: Embrace additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Strong Organizational Skills : Efficiently manage multiple tasks and projects.
Effective Communication: Possess excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrate systematic data-driven decision-making through conventional structured root cause analysis tools and applying personal experience. Develop creative solutions for immediate response and long-term implementation.
Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrate a solid understanding of mechanical principles.
Precision fits and part-to-part alignment.
Tolerance stack-up analysis and application of geometric tolerancing.
Hydraulic and pneumatic design with a safety system integration in mind.
Electrical Background: Experience with automation, industrial controllers, and controller programming, preferred.
Read and interpret electrical drawings.
Data Analysis Skills: Gather and analyze data using statistical methods. Experience with JMP is a plus.
Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of Project Management software (Microsoft Project or Smartsheet).
CAD Expertise: Advanced technical proficiency with SolidWorks and SolidWorks Vault Professional (EPDM), required.
In the absence of SolidWorks vault, experience with another document control software can be considered.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
7+ years’ experience in manufacturing or automation.
3+ years’ experience of project engineering or project management

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND VISUAL DEMANDS:
Requires use of hands and arms at least 90% of the time.
Majority of the time is spent sitting or standing at a desk.
Typical lifting requirements are less than 10 lbs. Manual lifting could reach the company maximum of 35 lbs.
Close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus are required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Climate-controlled office environment.
The employee will occasionally visit customer sites for troubleshooting or supporting machine commissioning during project work.
Travel will be required for training or trade shows to support new technology and skill learning.

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $94,600.00 - $142,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
