Benefits and Memorial Program The Benefits and Memorial Program (BAM) provides high quality, effective, and efficient Information Technology (IT) services to those responsible for providing care to the Veterans at the point-of-care as well as throughout all points of the Veterans' health care in an effective, timely and compassionate manner. The VA depends on Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) systems to meet mission goals, and deliver world-class, innovative systems that ensure reliable, secure, and seamless delivery of benefits and services directly to Veterans and their families. The BAM program focuses on developing and managing advanced technology solutions to serve the Veterans Benefits Administration, the Board of Veterans Appeals, and the National Cemetery Administration.

9th Way Insignia has an opening for a Senior Information Security Analyst to assist in providing Security Analysis and support to the BAM technical infrastructure. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Professional Level Information: A Senior Information Security Analyst aligns as a Level 2 Engineer at 9th Way Insignia. A Level (2) Engineer has a good understanding of the software development life cycle and can take on work without much direction the majority of the time. Performs multiple engineering-related tasks in various assignments within the project and firm. An Engineer, 2 has broad knowledge of engineering procedures and assists in the resolution of complex problems. An Engineer, 2, has strong technical skills and background, a knack for learning new technologies, and a blend of good problem-solving and innovation needed to resolve a wide variety of technical production challenges. Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed reports documenting security breaches and assess the extent of damage caused by these incidents.

Monitor network traffic to identify potential security breaches and promptly investigate any anomalies.

Install and configure security software tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and data encryption programs.

Collaborate with IT teams to ensure robust security measures are in place.

Research and stay informed about the latest developments in information technology security.

Research and implement cutting-edge technologies to protect sensitive data and systems.

Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.

Create a comprehensive security plan that aligns with industry best practices.

Conduct regular simulated cyber-attacks to identify vulnerabilities in computer systems.

Address and remediate any weaknesses before external threats exploit them.

Advise managers and senior executives on security advancements and risk mitigation strategies.

Assist colleagues in installing new software and educate them on security protocols.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field (or 11 years equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).

7 years experience

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Knowledge of network protocols, security frameworks, and risk assessment methodologies.

Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality results.

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $77,097 - $117,000 9th Way Insignia's range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
