Your Opportunity

Are you passionate about airports and want to help grow an Airport Buildings practice? Stantec Architecture Inc. is looking for a Senior Project Manager to help lead its airport team. Your challenge is to help build a sustainable airports buildings practice from our Denver office and collaborate with our local and airport sector leaders, operations and practice leaders in growing Stantec’s US airport practice. You will participate in pursuing, winning, and delivering a full range of airport buildings projects from small renovations to complete terminal buildings, starting in Denver and circling out from there.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the vision, growth and advancement of Stantec’s Airport Sector.

  • Responsible for the overall execution and delivery of multi-disciplinary airport projects at a variety of scales and complexity.

  • Responsible for financial performance of projects including adherences to workplan and revenue targets, identifying and negotiating scope changes and account receivables collections.

  • Provide workload forecasts to identify resource needs, securing key staff and providing mentorship to create "Bench Depth"

  • Work collaboratively with office and regional leadership to achieve effective staffing which supports the needs of clients and projects, in balance with the firm’s resources.

  • Responsible for leading project pursuits activities, developing proposals, interviews, and presentation material in coordination with marketing team members.

  • Direct contract negotiations with clients and consultants, review and approve fee proposals.

  • May oversee other PMs, holding them accountable, and providing timely feedback.

  • Lead/attend project kick-off workshops to ensure workplans are in place to allocate proper resources, quality execution and financial targets are met.

  • Participate in the recruitment of new Airports Buildings staff and contribute to performance reviews of existing staff.

  • Act as an internal and external ambassador for the firm.

  • Engage with Airports sector leadership across Stantec to optimize market position and effectively manage resources.

  • Contribute to and support Stantec client satisfaction/survey program.

  • Monitor and advise on airport market trends.

  • Solicit and facilitate sharing of industry knowledge.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Experience in leading all aspects of airport project development and delivery.

  • An entrepreneurial orientation with strong understanding of the business development challenges of a consulting-services provider.

  • Experience in successful airport project pursuits including identifying opportunities, client engagement, developing teaming strategies, developing proposals, and winning new work.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills on airport projects in excess of $5 million.

  • Exceptional communication, and team-building skills.

  • Familiarity with airport industry trends in the US.

  • Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and regulatory agencies.

  • Interest and desire to travel periodically.

  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

  • Ability to obtain airside security badge at commercial service airports and passing required security background checks is required.

  • This position is located in Denver, Colorado with the expectation that the employee will be primarily in office and on-site.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.

  • 10-15 years of airport experience with a minimum of 5 years as a PM.

  • Architectural registration required.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • $108,000 - $162,000 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO, HI, MD and IL

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
