Job Title: Science Secondary Teacher

Location: 1860 Lincoln Street, Denver, CO 80203
Salary: $50,130 with standard benefits.
Duties:
Follow DPS curriculum to instruct students. The following job duties will be performed at the secondary school level: Plan, evaluate and assign lessons for high school science classes using various teaching methods, including lecture, demonstration, and the use of audio/visual aids. Follow school-approved curriculum to prepare lessons and promote classroom discussions and activities to increase understanding of mathematics lessons. Prepare and administer tests to evaluate progress, record results, and issue reports of progress. Complete, maintain, and submit accurate records, forms and reports punctually as required. Work with a diverse student population and staff. Maintain classroom discipline. Observe and evaluate a student's performance and potential and provide assistance in areas in which a student needs additional help. Attend and participate in required service and staff development meetings. Meet with parents and school staff to discuss the student's academic progress or personal problems.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Education, Biological Sciences, or related. Must possess valid Colorado Department of Education Teacher's License with appropriate endorsement in Science Education (7-12), or ability to obtain. Application deadline is 6/5/24.
