Job Summary and Qualifications
I. Position Summary: The Labor and Delivery Scheduler (US) performs clerical and receptionist duties in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Rose Medical Center. The Labor and Delivery Scheduler is responsible for scheduling inductions, c/sections and other labor and delivery procedures. They will act as the liaison between labor and delivery and the OB offices as well as provide information to patients the day before their scheduled procedure. The scheduler will work with the unit director, charge nurses, and unit secretaries to appropriately schedule and manage all scheduled patients. They will be the touchpoint for the OB offices. The Labor and Delivery Scheduler may rotate to other than his/ her assigned department and will perform only those duties for which he/ she has demonstrated competency. Performs other duties as requested by the nurse manager.
II. Position Requirements:
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: None required.
B. Education: Highschool Diploma required.
C. Experience: Some scheduling or secretarial experience preferred. Experience with computers and medical terminology required.
D. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates good organizational skills. Knowledge of medical and technical terms to accurately transcribe physician orders and complete requisitions. Excellent computer skills, and trained in various computer programs, such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Meditech, and Kronos. Displays appropriate judgement and problem-solving skills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers. Able to work on multiple tasks in a chaotic atmosphere.
